When to start raising children?

Of course, in the first few months of a baby’s life, there is no point in raising him, all he needs at this age is the care and attention of his parents. But when to start? A year or so later?

Raising a child up to a year

In the first months, your baby will lie quietly on his back, stomach, in a playpen or stroller, or sit on your lap and look around. Now the child is driven by curiosity.

For example, if he sees a tablecloth, he certainly needs to touch it and pull it towards himself. When there is food in front of him and he is not hungry, he will play with it.

The kitchen cabinet will be a great place to explore the contents, and the buttons on the remote control will be very interesting.

In this journey of discovery, the stage begins where parents determine what is allowed and what is not.

The question of age is a little wrong, education should begin from the moment of the first attempts to throw everything out of the closet.

However, it is impossible to go too far, it is important to explain and show, to develop an independent correction of an undesirable action. Even at six months, a baby can wipe the table after a spilled glass of water or collect rattles in a toy box.

So, as soon as the child begins to explore every corner of the house, you can actively engage in parenting.

This means that you point out the limits in a friendly manner. Don’t expect this to have an immediate effect: the mending phase requires patience.

It may seem that the baby does not listen to you, indeed, he will not understand your requirements from the first phrases, only repeated repetition will allow him to remember and not break the rules.

By combining words with action, you make boundaries clearer. Did the child get too close to the TV to watch the cartoon? Do not just voice why it’s impossible, put the baby on the sofa. Thus, he will remember faster, but will not always perform. As a rule, the first time the request is violated in your absence, so you will have to follow this.

Raising a child after the first year of life

After a year, it’s time to learn the rules. Explain briefly and to the point without going into too much encyclopedic detail. If the explanation does not help, it is better to change tactics. For example, distract the child with toys or take him to another room.

Punishment at this stage does not make sense, the child does not yet understand what he is doing wrong, therefore it has no logical connection with your reaction.

How to raise a small child: the right approach

The desire for discovery is irresistible for a young child and is important for further development. For him, this is the only way to find out what his own capabilities are and how everything works around him.

He learns from experience, using physical sensations and emotions over and over until his brain remembers it. Does he drop the cup on the floor every time?

This teaches him about gravity, sound and your reaction. You might think that this is unwanted or naughty behavior, but for a child, it’s nothing more than learning how things work. This behavior allows you to develop in many areas.

It is clear that the above fact does not always suit you, but you can control the behavior without limiting the need for discoveries. Invite the child to play with a jar of yogurt not at lunchtime, then at the table, he will not do this.

When it comes to behavior, it’s important that you and your partner follow the same rules. Be consistent and make sure everyone in your family agrees. What behavior do you want to ignore and fix?

Remember, until a child is two years old, “no” is often associated with a particular person. The kid will continue to pamper with another household, but he must also adhere to the established ban.

positive attention

Young children seek attention all day long, and especially with their families, because their reaction teaches a lot. Bad behavior most often causes resentment and it seems that the word “no” is heard more and more often in the house.

The solution to this problem is simple: notice positive behaviors more often than bad ones. Give your child a compliment, even for something he may have been doing for a long time that you haven’t mentioned before.

Joyful singing, a fun game, caution with a cat, etc. Feeling special attention to these actions, the baby will begin to perform them more often. As a result, children choose the right actions to succeed in this life.
